Built for the phone in your pocket, not a desk you don’t have
Most toy libraries run their session from a trestle table, not an office. Every desk flow in ToyHive — borrowing, returns, piece counts, battery sweeps — is designed for a volunteer holding a phone: big tap targets, camera QR scanning instead of barcode guns, and screens that fit one thumb. These aren’t shrunken desktop pages; the phone is the primary design target.
Click and collect
Order from home, pick up from the desk — or a locker
Families choose toys that are on the shelf now and pick a day you’re open. Volunteers pack each bag from one pick list, with a printed name sheet to sit on top. When a bag is ready, the family gets an email, and a text if you send them.
Using lockers? Type the locker number and code into the note when you mark the bag ready. It goes in the ready email and on the family’s portal. No locker hardware or integration needed.
