Toy bundles

Some physical toys are really several products combined — a core set plus an expansion pack, or a game with an add-on. A bundle lets you lend that combination as one item.

What a bundle is

A bundle stays one inventory item: one QR code, one status, one due date, one reservation queue and one loan record. The toy you started with is the main product (the anchor); each extra product you attach is a component. Nothing about the shared catalogue changes — each product keeps its own name, images, pieces and safety information.

There is no separate "bundle" switch. A toy simply is a bundle whenever it has one or more component products, and it turns back into an ordinary toy the moment you remove the last one.

Building a bundle

Open the toy, find the Bundle section, and choose Add product. Search the shared catalogue for the extra product, set a quantity (e.g. two of the same fan unit), and add an optional label for local context such as "Expansion pack". You can edit the quantity or label, or remove a component, at any time — that's an inventory edit, never a return.

A product can only be added once (adjust its quantity instead), and you can't add the main product to itself.

Photos, pieces and safety

  • The photo gallery shows pictures from every product in the bundle, and you can choose any of them — or your own uploaded photo — as the item's preferred image.
  • The return checklist counts the pieces of every product together: the main product's pieces plus each component's pieces times its quantity. Pieces are grouped by product so two components that both include a "Ball" never get muddled.
  • Safety facts combine: any product's warning applies to the whole bundle, the age range uses the most restrictive limits, and batteries are listed per product. Composing a bundle never hides a warning that was on one of the products.

Merges

If the catalogue team merges two of the products you've bundled, your bundle keeps working — the components repoint to the surviving record and any duplicated quantities are added together.
