Community catalogue moderators
The catalogue team is a small group of trusted community leaders who help keep the shared toy catalogue accurate — so it isn't only platform staff deciding whether that's the 2019 or 2023 edition of a game.
What a catalogue team member can do
Working across the whole platform, a catalogue team member can:
- Decide merge-back proposals — when a library improves a shared record and offers the changes back, approve them field by field, or decline with a short reason.
- Review AI and supplier records — approve a machine-written entry as checked, or hide one that's wrong.
- Triage flagged issues — resolve "this is wrong" reports (bad photo, wrong age, duplicate).
- Edit shared records — fix names, ages, pieces, safety warnings and photos on the shared entry directly.
What they cannot see or do
- No private library data. Moderators only ever touch public catalogue records and the specific changes a library chose to submit. Loans, members, payments and everything else stay behind each library's own walls.
- No platform administration — libraries, billing, ops and analytics stay with platform staff.
- No deciding their own library's proposals. If a proposal comes from a library the moderator belongs to, the console asks another team member to review it — a simple conflict-of-interest guard.
Becoming one
There's no application form. Approving a catalogue team member is a judgement platform staff make about known, trusted community leaders — usually someone already deeply involved in running a library. If that sounds like you, get in touch and we'll talk. Access can be granted or removed at any time, and every action a moderator takes is attributed and logged.
